Westminster College Student Singers and Musicians to Present Spring Choral Concert

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster College's Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will present a Spring Choral Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 27, in Wallace Memorial Chapel. The Women's Chorus and Men's Chorus will present a combined Spring Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, also at the Chapel.

The concerts are under the direction of Dr. Robin Lind, associate professor and director of choral activities. This is Lind's last concert at the College. She will retire at the end of the Spring Semester after 14 years at Westminster.

The Concert Choir and Chamber singers will present "An Afternoon of Choral Favorites." Selections on the program include "All My Trials" arranged by Norman Luboff, featuring student soloist Abigail Miles; and "Laughing Song" from poet William Blake's two poems set to music, featuring students Jennifer Peet on flute, Zachary Dernar on tambourine, and Benjamin Grove on piano. The program also includes "Ev'ry Time I Feel the Spirit, arranged by Allen Koepke, featuring students Kathleen Bachtel, Melissa Bischak, Lauren Thayer, Elise Heater, Annette McHaddon, and Rachel Read.

The Women's and Men's Choruses will present "The World of Our Dreams." Selections on the program include a song with the same title, featuring student Joseph Barber on the oboe and faculty member Edgar Groves conducting. Groves will also guest conduct "The Water is Wide," "Love is Enough," "Awakening," and "I Bought Me a Cat." The program will also include Kenyan folk song "Wana Baraka," accompanied by student Zachary Dernar on jembe.
