NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Dr. Edward Cohen, Westminster College associate professor of political science, recently published an article in the Finnish Yearbook of International Law, Vol. 22.

"Assessing the Impact of the Global Financial Crisis on Transnational Financial Law and Regulation" attempts to assess the role of national and international financial law and regulation in the origins of the financial crisis, and the impact of the crisis on law and regulation to this point.  It argues that, while the financial crisis has led to a significant re-assertion of the power of states over financial markets, private financial institutions retain surprisingly robust powers and resources to advance their own interests in the global economy.

The Finnish Yearbook of International Law is published by Hart Publishing. Cohen's article can be found on pages 51-84.
