Westminster College Celebrity Series Announces 2013-2014 Schedule

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster College's 2013-2014 Celebrity Series lineup includes concerts by Air Supply, A Christmas Celebration with Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr., and a special Valentine's Day concert with Jim Brickman.

Air Supply, sponsored by Jameson Health System and Opis Asset Management LLC, will kick off the season Thursday, Sept. 19.  This quintessential adult contemporary duo's hits include "Lost in Love," "All Out of Love," "The One that You Love," "Even the Nights are Better," "Here I Am," "Every Woman in the World," and "Making Love Out of Nothing At All."

The Tenors, sponsored by Giant Eagle, is on tap for Wednesday, Oct. 9.  Since their inception five years ago, The Tenors (also known as the Canadian Tenors) have been thrilling voices around the world with their powerful voices and blend of classical music and contemporary pop.

Under the Streetlamp, sponsored by First National Bank, is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 30.  This quartet is composed of recent leading cast members of the smash hit Jersey Boys. The group delivers an electrifying evening of classic hits from the American radio songbook; and bring their unique blend of tight harmonies and slick dance moves to popular Doo-Wop, Motown, and old time Rock `n´ Roll hits.

A Christmas Celebration with Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr., sponsored by the Springfield Restaurant Group and Park Inn by Radisson, is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 16. These seven-time Grammy Award-winning artists will present an inspiring holiday show with all of your Christmas favorites as well as a selection of their biggest hits.

Broadway by Jeri, sponsored by Huntington, is slated for Saturday, April 26, 2014. Broadway star, Jeri Sager, best known for her role as Grizabella in Cats and Fantine in Les Miserables, captivates audiences with her voice, funny and insightful banter, and colorful stage presence.

A special Valentine's Day concert with Jim Brickman is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014. The award-winning pianist and recording artist brings one of the most romantic concerts of the year with The Love Tour. This is a special show and not part of the subscription package.

All shows are at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.  Season subscriptions are currently on sale and single-show tickets may be pre-ordered.

A special Celebrity Series for Kids show, Junie B. Jones, is slated for Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. and is not part of the season subscription.  This charming new musical is based on the enormously popular books by Barbara Park.
