NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Seven Westminster College faculty and three students will present "Crossing Bridges and Opening Minds" at the Faires Faculty Forum Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 11:40 a.m. in the Mueller Theater of the McKelvey Campus Center.

They will provide an overview of a mosaic of Israeli and American faculty research collaborations currently underway with Western Galilee College in Akko, Israel. The Westminster and Western Galilee faculty have collaborated on research for three years and have taken turns hosting the Bridges International Faculty Workshop, providing opportunities for both of the institutions' faculty members to engage in formal and informal discussions to enrich their teaching and research. More than 30 faculty and staff from the colleges participate in the workshop.

Faculty presenting at the Westminster forum include: Dr. Michael Aleprete, assistant professor of political science; Dr. Amy Camardese, associate professor of education and chair of the department; Dr. Linda Domanski, professor of education; and Dr. Charlene Klassen Endrizzi, professor of education and faculty development officer; Dr. Mandy Medvin, professor of psychology, department chair and director of Westminster's preschool lab; Dr. Eileen Morelli, associate professor of education; and Dr. Sherri Pataki, associate professor of psychology and coordinator of the Westminster's Peace Studies Program.

Kelcey Bailey, Lindsey Vogler, and Teresa Whetstone will also share their research.

Bailey, a junior international politics major, is a daughter of Leslie Bailey of Earlysville, Va., and the late David Bailey and a graduate of Albemarle High School.

Vogler, a senior psychology major, is a daughter of Paula and Daniel Vogler of Beaver Falls and a graduate of Blackhawk High School.

Whetstone, a senior international politics and Spanish major, is a daughter of Karen DiNicola and David Whetstone, Medina, and a graduate of Medina High School.

Faculty Forum was established in 1990 by Dr. Barbara Faires, Westminster professor of mathematics emerita, during her term as dean of the college and vice president for academic affairs.  Faculty members from all disciplines volunteer to present lectures on their current research, artistic productions, and scholarship of teaching and learning.  Each forum presents new ideas with innovative lecture techniques.
