Opera Westminster will present The Merry Widow Friday, Oct. 28, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The program is free and open to the public.
Franz Lehar's operetta will be sung in English by Westminster students, faculty, and guest artists.
Westminster faculty in the production include: Dr. Beverly Cushman, associate professor of religion and Christian education, cast as Clo Clo; Dr. Larry Miller, associate professor of chemistry, cast as Viscomte Cascada; and Dr. Peter Smith, associate professor of chemistry, cast as Njegus.
The event is coordinated by stage director Dr. Anne Hagan Bentz, Westminster associate professor of music, and orchestra conductor Mihai Vilcu, Westminster adjunct music faculty. Westminster adjunct music faculty Marie Libal-Smith is pianist and an orchestra of Westminster faculty, students, and guest musicians will provide instrumental support.
