Three New Members Elected to Board of Trustees

The Westminster College Board of Trustees added seven members in its Class of 2015, including three first-time trustees.
George R. Berlin and Robert C. Jazwinski '75 were elected to their second consecutive four-year terms, while Whitney F. Bohan '74 and William W. Rankin '60 rejoined the Board after a one-year absence.
New to the 40-member Board in 2011 are W. Keith McCauley '68, Richard L. Nygaard, and Mary L. Park '85.
McCauley earned a master of education degree from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and retired after 37 years as a high school counselor in Ohio. A recipient of Westminster's Alumni Citation Award in 1988, McCauley was recognized as Outstanding Educator of Ohio and Summit County in 1990. He served 10 years as president of the Manchester (Ohio) Education Association, more than 12 years on Westminster's Alumni Council, and was a board member for the Ohio Association of College Admission Counselors. He holds memberships in the Ohio Education Association and National Education Association. McCauley divides his time between Brookville and Dunedin, Fla., where he hosts alumni events.
Nygaard, who earned an undergraduate degree in public administration from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, and juris doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School, has been senior judge in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Erie since 1988. He is a member of the Erie County and Federal Bar Associations and the UPMC Hamot Hospital Board of Corporators. Nygaard was honored with the 1994 Integrity Award from the Society for the Advancement of Integrity in Public Life; the 2003 James V. Kinnane Award from Mercyhurst College; the 2009 Erie County Bar Association Chancellor of the Bar; and an honorary doctorate from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Martha Jean, live in North East and are the parents of three children.
Park, who earned an MBA from Baldwin Wallace College, joined PPG Industries as a senior chemist in 1985. She has held several positions in the company and is currently the global color director at the Strongsville, Ohio, location. A member of the Women's Industry Network, Park holds two coatings technology patents and earned the PPG President's Award for commercial success of a new and innovative coatings technology. She and her husband, Jon, reside in Medina, Ohio, and are the parents of four.
Two new faculty associate trustees were elected for 2011: Joseph M. Balczon, associate professor of biology, and Terri L. Lenox, associate professor of computer science and chair of Westminster's Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, join Richard L. Sprow, professor of English, who was appointed to a second one-year term.
Newly elected student associate trustee William P. Armentrout joins senior classmates Richard G. Ligo and Katelyn M. Moga, who were appointed to their second one-year terms.
Armentrout, a physics major, is a son of W. Jan and Mary Jane Armentrout of Ford City and a graduate of Ford City High School.
Ligo, a mathematics major, is a son of Jesse and Amy Ligo of Mercer and a graduate of Mercer Area High School.
Moga, a political science major, is a daughter of Timothy and Pamela Moga of Ashtabula, Ohio, and a graduate of Edgewood High School.
Three former trustees earned emeritus status: Dr. Robert S. Gardner '57, retired physician; George C. Greer, retired senior vice president of H. J. Heinz, Inc.; and Richard L. White '61, former executive vice president of Bayer Corporation.
