Employees Recognized for 866 Years of Service

Westminster College honored 43 employees for 866 years of combined service at a luncheon May 11 in the Witherspoon Rooms of the McKelvey Campus Center.

Employees who are retiring are: Dr. Carol Bové, professor of French, who has been with Westminster since 1984; Charles Chirozzi, chief engineer TV/radio, who joined Westminster in 1988; Iva Kerrick, library assistant in Mack Science Library, who came to Westminster in 1979; and Kathy Koop, professor of art, who joined the faculty in 1985.

Those honored for years of service were:

40 years - Donna Buchowski, cook with Sodexo Dining Service; Dr. A. Dwight Castro, professor of classics; and Richard Shaffer, stockroom attendant with Sodexo Dining Service.

35 years - Dr. Daniel Fischmar, professor of economics, and Molly Spinney, associate professor and head librarian.

30 years - Bernie Bonnie, manager of computer and network operations; Elizabeth "Biz" Hines, director of Lifelong Learning Program/Continuing Education; and Sandra Shearer, bookstore manager.

25 years - Peggy Cox, professor of art, and Rob Klamut, associate professor of physical education.

20 years - Suzanne Carter Barner, human resources assistant/payroll coordinator; Mary Jo Evanoff, financial aid assistant; Elaine Gurtner, custodian; Diana Reed, head teacher in the Department of Psychology's Preschool Lab; Gary Swanson, director of audio visual services; Dr. David Swerdlow, professor of English; Dr. Ann Throckmorton, professor of biology; Dr. David Twining, professor of history; and Dr. Ross Wastvedt, associate professor of English.

15 years - Beth Brooks, executive secretary in Student Affairs; Linda Burkhart, secretary in the Physical Plant office; Dwight Copper, technical assistant in McGill Library; Mary Dado, purchasing, training, and office manager in the Information Systems Department; Ginger Errera, print shop clerk; Dr. R. Tad Greig, associate professor of music; Dr. Ann Murphy, associate professor of French and Spanish; and Deborah Roud, teacher in the Department of Psychology's Preschool Lab.

10 years - Dr. Timothy Cuff, associate professor of history; Dr. Nancy DeSalvo, associate professor of music; Jennifer Hough, associate director of admissions; Diane Leonetti, custodian; Dr. Robin Lind, associate professor of music; June Pierce, registrar; Dr. John Robertson, associate professor of biology; Terry Sammons, secretary in the Career Center; Dr. C. David Shaffer, associate professor of computer science; Joe Surgenavic, plumber; Betty Talbert, lecturer of business administration; and Bradley Weaver, instructor of broadcast communications.
