Music Professor Plays & Teaches Master Classes

Dr. Elizabeth Harrison, Westminster College assistant professor of music, recently taught master's classes and gave a concert in North Carolina.

Harrison's organ concert, "Masterworks through the Centuries," was given at St. James Episcopal Church in Wilmington, North Carolina. The music included works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Dietrich Buxtehude, Felix Mendelssohn, Margaret Sandresky, and others.

"I also taught a master class on the works of Dietrich Buxtehude," Harrison said. "Performers in the class included American Guild of Organist members from Wilmington and Greenville, as well as students from East Carolina University."

Harrison, who has been with Westminster College since 2000, earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University, masters' from Southern College and the New England Conservatory, and D.M.A. from Stanford University.
