Westminster College Plans "Bear Tales" Planetarium Show

Posted on Friday, April 20, 2001

Westminster College will host a "Bear Tales" planetarium show Wednesday-Saturday, May 2-5, in the planetarium, room 116 of Hoyt Science Resources Center. Each day a show will begin at 7 p.m. with an added matinee Saturday at 2 p.m.

Participants will join a family camping trip under the stars, and listen as the family is regaled by Grandpa Ben's lively and pun-filled tall tales about the night sky. His stories will take the audience through history from ancient Greece and Egypt to modern tales about Blackbeard the pirate. He will take a tour of the spring constellations, explaining how and why they are there, and draw freely from all mythologies and his own imagination to explain the stars' positions.

This fun and educational show is free and open to the public, and is sure to be enjoyed by all audiences. Due to the limited seating, reservations are required. Call (724) 946-7200 for reservations to this multimedia presentation.
