Dr. Wilson is an Associate Professor of Chemistry with 11 years of experience as a faculty mentor. She specializes in bioanalytical chemistry, which is using analytical techniques to learn about biological systems. She teaches Principles of Chemistry, Chemical Analysis, Instrumental Analysis, Biological Chemistry, and Advanced Laboratory. In addition, Dr. Wilson works with undergraduates on customized research projects including investigating the structure of proteins in diverse environments and studying the attachment of bacteria to surfaces with anti-attachment coatings to prevent biofilm infections. Dr. Wilson also carries out research in chemical education, looking at how different classroom and out-of-class practices impact student learning.
