About Me


Jeff Wachter joined the Westminster faculty as an adjunct Professor of Music in the Fall of 2003. Mr. Wachter earned both a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Music Theory and Composition from the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University, studying Composition with Mark Walker and Adophus Hailstork, and Piano with Marcellene Hawk and Dolores Fitzer. His jazz studies at YSU include Outstanding Soloist Award from the National Association of Jazz Educators. A member of ASCAP, Mr. Wachter remains as a active composer and arranger and has numerous published works. He has performed extensively throughout the tri-state area. At Westminster, Mr. Wachter teaches private and class piano, jazz improvisation, and composition. In addition, his schedule includes vocal and instrumental accompanying, as well as accompanying the Westminster Women’s Chorus. Mr. Wachter currently serves as Faculty Advisor for the Westminster Jazzcats, a student jazz combo. Mr. Wachter is the Organist and Director of Music at Central Christian Church in Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
