About Me

Daniel R. Urban (he/him)

I am privileged to work as a TRIO Student Support Services advisor at Westminster College. In this role, I provide advice, information, options and referrals to students.  My goal is to help students get the most out of their Titan experience and provide a conduit to all of the helpful services provided by the college in coordination with the other faculty and staff in the school ecosystem.

Previously, I was a Social Studies teacher for 16 years in an alternative education setting.  Courses of instruction included: Early and Recent American History, US Government, World History, Civics, Geography, Sociology and Psychology. My work in education also included ample experience in classroom discipline and curriculum development.

I graduated from Clarion University with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and promptly began working as a TSS.   During that time and a few years following I spent summers as a counselor at Westminster Highlands and then as the outdoor adventure coordinator at Pine Springs Camp.

Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of participating in mission trips from as nearby as Pittsburgh, Cleveland and West Virginia to the exotic locales of Jamaica and Vanuatu (a Pacific island nation).  Through Westminster College I have enjoyed several “Spring Break with a Purpose” trips to South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia.  I’ve also been blessed to serve as an Elder at the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church.

My greatest joy is found in experiencing life with my wife and two sons as we enjoy biking, hiking, softball, volleyball, cross training and home improvement.
