Shannon I. Smithey

I graduated from Southern Methodist University with a B.S. in Political Science and a B.A. in History. I earned my MA and Ph.D. in Political Science from The Ohio State University. I have been with Westminster since 2003. 

I love politics. I love the wacky things people do as part of the political process. (Have you ever seen the funny hats delegates wear to the party conventions?--They're hilarious!). I love that people care enough to get passionate about a cause. I love when people work together to make the world a better place. I love the jokes that deflate the egos of the selfish and the overly self-assured.
