My teaching philosphy is broadcast and media production education must include considerable hands-on lab experiences at campus or commercial broadcast facilities. Classroom work must be practical and adaptable to a career in broadcasting. While in college, students should be involved in a variety of broadcasting experiences both on-air and behind the scenes. Graduates of a broadcasting program must have strong communication skills and fundamental technical skills. Classes in the major need to be supplemented with a variety of courses from other disciplines. A broadcaster must have a well rounded education.
