The Professional Networking Symposium is designed to help students and young alumni better understand potential paths after graduation, including career and graduate school options. There are also many opportunities for students, alumni, and friends of Westminster College to meet and network with others in their field. The Symposium includes a career fair, three breakout sessions with a variety of specially designed tracks to choose from, a networking luncheon, and an off-site thank you reception for participating alumni and friends. Sessions are designed to address specific topics and interests, include participants with directly relevant experience, and are moderated by experienced professionals.
Click "Alumni Registration" to register for the Symposium. Please note that not all fields will apply to all attendees. Guests are welcome to attend. As always, there is no cost to attend the Symposium, as we greatly appreciate the participation of alumni and friends of Westminster College. Your participation enables us to offer a differentiated experience to students and young alumni. You should also expect to be able to do some networking of your own and enjoy a post-event wine & cheese reception. Registered attendees are displayed on the right side bar of the alumni event’s page.
Click "Student Registration" to register for the Symposium.
Please contact Terry Sammons by email or phone 724-946-7338 with any questions about the symposium, or visit the Career Center on the 3rd Floor of McKelvey Campus Center if would like to register in the Career Center.
The Symposium includes a career fair with tables still available to interested organizations. Hosts include some of the largest employers in the region, small entrepreneurial firms, and non-profit organizations. The Career Fair is one of the best opportunities in the region to reach students and young alumni at the same event, and continue the conversation throughout the day during the various complementary sessions. For more information about the Career Fair and/or hosting a table, please contact Jennifer Hough, Assistant Director of the Career Center, by telephone 724-946-7339 or by email.
A networking luncheon will be held free of charge for all participants. Participants will also have an opportunity to have photos taken for use on LinkedIn.
A thank you reception will be held at the Fractured Grape Winery in New Wilmington. For all alumni, friends, faculty, and staff (21+) involved in the Symposium, the reception will give you an opportunity to interact with other professionals and give us an opportunity to thank you for spending the day helping students. Hors d’ oeuvres are complimentary and wine is discounted by the glass for attendees.
During the day
If you have interest in being a classroom speaker, please contact Kara Montgomery firstname.lastname@example.org. A limited number of spaces are available to alumni speakers to assist in classes throughout the day on Friday.
