Financial Aid

It All Starts With Your FAFSA

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Completing the FAFSA is how you apply for federal student aid, such as federal grants, work-study, and loans. The form is maintained by the U.S. Department of Education. U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizen may complete the FAFSA.

The FAFSA typically opens each year for the next academic year, on October 1. However, this year, the U.S. Department of Education announced that the 2026-2027 FAFSA form will open on or before December 2025.

Westminster’s FAFSA School Code

Make sure you enter Westminster College’s school code 003392 so that a copy of your completed FAFSA is sent to us. Our Office of Financial Aid uses the information generated through your FAFSA to build your individualized financial aid offer.

Financial Aid Offer

Our Office of Financial Aid will review the results of your FAFSA and determine the resources available to you. Our goal is to keep your Westminster education as affordable as possible.

Your financial aid offer is based on the information provided in your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), as determined by the U.S. Department of Education. This offer may include a combination of Westminster College scholarships, federal or state grants, loans, and/or Federal Work-Study opportunities. Students who meet all eligibility requirements and submit required documents by the stated deadlines are considered for the maximum amount of aid for which they qualify. Merit-based financial aid is awarded based on academic performance, typically measured by your high school grades and achievements. Need-based financial aid is determined by the results of your FAFSA, which assesses your financial circumstances and ability to pay for college.
