Financial Aid

It All Starts With Your FAFSA

The FAFSA

FAFSA stands for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Completing the FAFSA is how you apply for federal student aid, such as federal grants, work-study, and loans—but it’s also what we use to build your individualized financial aid offer. U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizen may complete the FAFSA.

The FAFSA typically opens each year for the next academic year, on October 1. The launch of the 2024-25 FAFSA form is delayed and will be available in December 2023.

Financial Aid Offer

Once we receive the results of your FAFSA, our Office of Financial Aid will review them and determine the resources available to you. Our goal is to keep your Westminster education as affordable as possible.

Your financial aid offer is based on your individual financial need and eligibility. It may include various types of aid such as Westminster scholarships, grants, loans, and/or work study employment. Eligible students meeting required deadlines are offered the maximum amount of aid available. Merit based financial aid is based on your academic performance. Need based financial aid is based on the results of your FAFSA.
