Orchestra Auditions
Auditions will take place immediately prior to the start of classes in the Fall. Since the auditions will be held online, you may make an appointment during the week of Aug. 21.
As in the past, all orchestra members must audition.
All of the audition music is self-selected. In other words, choose something from your own repertoire that showcases your best playing. Try to select excerpts that will demonstrate your technical and musical playing.
Westminster's orchestra performs several concerts a year from standard symphonic orchestral repertoire. The ensemble meets every Tuesday from 5:20-8:30 and it has the option of being taken for VP credit, standard 1-credit, or for 0-credit.
Auditions will be held during the week of Aug. 21. If you are interested, please email Dr. Crawford Perttu to make an appointment. (It will only take about 10 minutes.) To accommodate everyone’s beginning-of-the-semester move-in/rehearsal/orientation schedules, the audition will take place over Zoom. Finally, please schedule your audition time with Dr. Crawford Perttu well before the audition day in order to receive your preferred audition time. (Freshmen: Please schedule your audition around any Orientation or move-in commitments.)
Please note: There will NOT be an on-campus sign-up sheet for auditions. Appointments will be made only via email.
The Zoom link will be sent out when the audition appointment is made.
