"Nights of Cabiria," a 1957 Italian film that won an Oscar for Best Foreign Film, will be shown Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. in the McKelvey Campus Center Theater.

Federico Fellini directs his wife, Giulietta Masina, in this film about a prostitute who dreams of a better life. Her character is so engaging that the audience often finds itself rooting for her, though happiness always remains out of reach.

The event, which is part of a five-film series, is free and open to the public. Free popcorn and soft drinks are in available in the student lounge before the show.
