Westminster College is hosting the first annual "Woodwind Day" on March 17 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and perform with top level professional woodwind pedagogues and performers. There is no registration fee, and lunch is provided. To register, visit www.westminster.edu/music and follow the link on the music homepage, or contact Dr. Tim Winfield at 724-946-7274 or winfietd@westminster.edu. Woodwind players at all levels are welcome to attend.

The guest artists for this year’s woodwind day are Dr. Wildy Zumwalt (saxophone) and Allyson Edington (clarinet). Dr. Zumwalt is professor of saxophone at SUNY Fredonia and has extensive performing experience across the USA and Europe. Edington is a freelance clarinetist in Pittsburgh, PA, and is the executive director of the new-music ensemble, NAT 28.

Master-classes and rehearsals will be conducted by guest artists and Westminster woodwind faculty, Zoe Sorrell (flute), Kim Winfield (oboe), Dan Heasley (clarinet), Dr. Dan Perttu (bassoon) and Dr. Jim Flowers (saxophone).

All high school students who want to perform in masterclasses, should contact Dr. Winfield at 724-946-7274 or winfietd@westminster.edu
