Westminster Sociology Professor Presented Workshop

Dr. Virginia Tomlinson, associate professor of sociology at Westminster College, recently presented a workshop at the 12th annual Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Adoption Conference.

The workshop, "Everyday Opportunities to Talk about Adoption: Images of Adoption in Film, Literature, and Television," is part of Tomlinson's larger research emphasis on families and childhood adoption.

Tomlinson, who has been with Westminster College since 1996, earned her undergraduate degree from Birmingham Southern College, her master's from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and her Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
