Westminster College Presents Three Upcoming Concerts

Westminster College will host three upcoming concerts directed by Dr. Timothy Winfield, assistant professor of music, and Kimberly Winfield, adjunct instructor of oboe. All concerts are free and open to the public.

The Oboe Studio Spring Recital directed by Ms. Winfield will take place on Saturday, April 16 at 12 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel. Oboe music will be performed by students and faculty, including works by Vivaldi Bellini, Hidas, Poulenc, and Triebensee. A reception will follow.

The Jazz Ensemble will present their Spring Concert on Sunday, April 17 at 3 p.m. in Berlin Lounge, McKelvey Campus Center, under the direction of Dr. Winfield This event is the culminating jazz concert of the academic year. The performance includes the following charts, Hit the Ground Running by Gordon Goodwin, Us by Thad Jones, Cold Duck Time by Eddie Harris, and In the Mood by Joe Garland among others.

The Brass Studio Recital will perform on Tuesday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium, under the direction of Dr. Winfield. The concert will feature various student solo performances on trumpet, trombone and euphonium; chamber performances from the horn and tuba ensembles; and collaborations between faculty and students.
