Concert Choir and Chamber Singers Spring Concert April 23

The Westminster College Concert Choir and Chamber Singers spring concert is Sunday, April 23, at 3 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel.

Under the direction of Dr. Robin Lind, the choir will perform "There is a Balm in Gilead" featuring soloists: Darci Kuhlber, a senior music education major from Grove City; Sarah Timm, a junior music education major from St. Marys; and David Timm, a sophomore music education major from St. Marys.  Music continues with "Greater Love Hath No Man" featuring Craig Dressler, sophomore music performance major from Erie on the organ; and soloists Winifred Limmer, a senior psychology major from New Vernon, N.J.; and Douglas Spiri, a senior music education major from Pittsburgh.

The program continues with "Pai duli vwihdul ja," a Russian folksong, and "La Traviata" with soloists Bridget Steller, a senior music education major from Millbrook, N.Y.; and William McCullough, a sophomore music education major from DuBois. 

Three Lacrymosa's, which are part of larger requiem pieces, will be conduced by Westminster alumnus, Sean Taylor '04.  One is written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one by Guiseppe Verdi, and one by Nancy Galbreath, Carnegie Mellon University faculty member.  Verdi's music features a quartet of Westminster alumni: Nora Drake Saeler '01, Jennifer Gardner Newman '00, Matthew Newman '01, and Brian Barrett '03
