College Represented on Executive Board of National Council

Posted on Tuesday, September 23, 2014

Dr. Terri Lenox, professor of computer science and Chair of Westminster's Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, was appointed to the executive board of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) at its annual business meeting in Washington, DC, in June.

Lenox, one of 24 councilors in CUR's Mathematics and Computer Science Division, was named the division's representative to the executive board.

CUR was founded more than 30 years ago by a group of chemists from private liberal arts colleges who wanted to provide information about collaborative research between faculty and students conducted at liberal arts colleges.  The organization has grown to include all disciplines, 7,000 individuals and more than 600 colleges and universities.  Councilors are elected to three-year terms and are part of the governing body.

Lenox joined Westminster's faculty in 1999 and received the Distinguished Faculty Award in 2013.  She earned an undergraduate degree from Grove City College and master's degree and Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
