NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Dr. Daniel Perttu, Westminster College assistant professor of music theory and composition, recently had his composition,  "Toccata for Piano Duo," published by Editions Musica Ferrum, who are based in Athens, Greece.

"Toccata for Piano Duo" was selected for publication through a peer-review process. Editions Musica Ferrum publishes works exclusively by contemporary composers of classical music. Select composers are included internationally from Greece, the United Kingdom, and America, among other countries.

"This recent publication represents an important step in my career, because I am broadening the marketing of my compositions to the international level," Perttu said.

Perttu's music has been performed in Europe, Asia, and throughout the United States. In addition, Perttu's music has been published by BRS Music, Inc., as well as Dorn Publications.

He has also received various commissions and awards from throughout the country. One notable recent commission was for a piece that was performed by the Greenville Symphony Orchestra and Shenango Valley Chorale.
