Westminster College's Drinko Center to Host Workshop for School Administrators

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster College's Drinko Center for Experiential Learning will host a workshop for school superintendents and administrators Tuesday, Oct. 23, beginning at 8:15 a.m. in the Witherspoon Lakeview Room of McKelvey Campus Center.

"Legal and Policy Issues Facing School Administrators in 2012-2013" is sponsored by the Drinko Center and the University of Pittsburgh's Tri-State Area School Study Council.  Presentations will cover "Employee Speech/Conduct: What is Protected, What is Not," "Questionable Teacher Behavior and Student Sexual Abuse: Training Now Required," and "Teacher Dismissal: You Have to Draw the Line Somewhere." An advisory panel will address participants' questions.

The workshop will include a continental breakfast, time for networking, and lunch. The workshop qualifies for Act 48 credits.

The Drinko Center for Experiential Learning was created to enrich undergraduate education at Westminster through advancing world-class teaching as well as by participating in collaborations that address community and regional needs including strengthening K-12 education.  The Undergraduate Research Initiative provides funding for students to conduct research and to present their research at regional and national conferences.
