Dr. Robin Lind, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities at Westminster College, will present "The Effect of Text on Music with a Demonstration and Performance by the Chamber Singers" at Faculty Forum Wednesday, April 6, at 11:45 a.m. in Orr Auditorium.

"I will discuss the relationship between text and music as it relates to choral singing," Lind said.  "The Chamber Singers will demonstrate the concepts presented and will perform works by Brahms and Gershwin."

Faculty forum, established in 1990, serves as a venue for the exchange of ideas and information among Westminster College faculty.  Speakers present their research, teaching ideas, lectures, performances, special programs, and uses of technology to keep faculty informed about the work of colleagues from many disciplines.

Lind, who has been with Westminster College since 2000, earned her undergraduate degree from Albertsons College of Idaho, master's from the University of Oregon, and Ph.D. from the University of Utah.

The event is free and open to the public.  For more information, contact Lind at (724) 946-7278 or e-mail lindra@westminster.edu.
