Wind Ensemble to Present Concert March 16

The Westminster College Wind Ensemble will present a concert Friday, March 16, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.  The program is free and open to the public.

Selections on the program include: "Armenian Dances II" by Alfred Reed; "George Washington Bridge" by William Schuman; "Children's March" by Percy Grainger; and "Cloudburst" by Eric Whitacre.

Members of the ensemble are selected by audition.  They have been guest performers at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association conference and have recorded for area composers.  The group is under the direction of Dr. R. Tad Greig, associate professor, director of bands, and chair of Westminster's Department of Music.

Greig, who has been with Westminster since 1995, earned an undergraduate degree from Grove City College, master's degree from Youngstown State University, and Ph.D. from Kent State University.
