Westminster College's Office of the Chaplain and Church Relations will host three speakers from the Sudan Evangelical Presbyterian Church (SEPC) at Open Door Worship Sunday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel.  The vespers service is open to all.

The trio is visiting the area as guests of the Presbytery of Shenango PC (USA) and sharing their stories of voting, life, and struggles in the new country of South Sudan.

The Rev. Tut Kony, a key young leader in SEPC, is the General Secretary of the recently formed southern presbytery of SEPC.  In addition to his work as pastor, he has been very active in the church's outreach to the Darfur region and has served as vice moderator of SEPC Synod.  His current work in the Republic of South Sudan involves considerable risk as he works to bring reconciliation between warring ethnic groups.

The Rev. Ismail Kanani serves as General Secretary of the Sudan Bible Society and teaches at Nile Theological College.  He serves as pastor to several small churches and has held leadership positions in SEPC, including Dean of Nile Theological College and General Secretary of SEPC.

Rev. Kanani's wife, Elizabeth Koko, is active in the Women's Committee of SEPC and has been a gracious hostess to Shenango groups visiting her home.
