Westminster College President Dr. Richard H. Dorman was elected to a three-year term on the Association of Presbyterian Colleges and Universities (APCU) Board of Directors at the association's recent annual meeting.

Dorman, Westminster's 14th president, came to Westminster in July 2008.  Westminster has enjoyed record enrollment during his tenure and was recently named the "Best College for Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math" by Forbes.  Westminster has elevated to the top tier of Liberal Arts Colleges in U.S. News Guide to America's Best Colleges and is also listed as a "Best Value."

Dorman previously served as vice president for institutional advancement at Otterbein University since 1996 and oversaw the most successful fund raising in Otterbein's history.  He was assistant vice president for development and director of health sciences development at the University of Louisville; an executive with the Penn State Alumni Association; and director of choral activities at Red Lion Area (Pa.) High School.

Dorman earned an undergraduate degree in music education from Susquehanna University, a master's in counseling/college student personnel services and his doctorate in higher education administration from The Pennsylvania State University.

He is a member and elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and is active in the community, having served a number of leadership positions in civic, service, and educational organizations.

APCU is an independent, not for profit organization of more than 60 private colleges and universities that have an historic affiliation with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). The association works under a covenant agreement with the PC(USA)'s General Assembly Mission Council and exists to promote its member institutions and to advocate the mission of higher education in the Reformed tradition.
