Dr. Edward Cohen, Westminster College associate professor of political science, was recently published in the Brooklyn Journal of International Law.

Cohen's article, "Normative Modeling for Global Governance: The Case of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL)," explores the role of UNCITRAL as a key institution in making rules governing international trade and investment law over the past two decades.  It emphasizes the political dynamics and challenges facing international institutions that try to shape the laws and rules of international economic policy in the age of globalization.  It is based on extensive interviews with key participants and observation of the work of the institution.

Cohen, who serves as chair of Westminster's Department of Political Science and Sociology, joined the faculty in 1996.  He earned an undergraduate degree from Brooklyn College and master's and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
