Posted on Tuesday, October 12, 2010

"After This Strange Starting: Method, Theory and the Philosophy of Religion(s)," written by Dr. Bryan Rennie, Westminster College Vira I Heinz professor of religion, was published in Method and Theory in the Study of Religion.

Rennie was guest editor for the entire issue after he organized the roundtable session for the papers that were first given at the 2009 national conference of the American Academy of Religion (AAR) in Montreal.

"One of the contributors, Ann Taves, is the current president of the AAR and the others are a group of acclaimed international scholars," Rennie said. "I was particularly proud to be working with such a distinguished group and it was a privilege to help the whole set of papers to be published."

Rennie, who chairs Westminster's Department of Religion, History, Philosophy and Classics, has been with Westminster since 1992. He earned an undergraduate degree, master's, and Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He has authored four books and numerous articles on Mircea Eliade.
