Art Professor to Speak on Gallery Exhibit at Faculty Forum

Posted on Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Kathy Koop, Westminster College professor of art, will speak at Faires Faculty Forum Wednesday, March 24, at 11:40 a.m. in the Sebastian Mueller Theater of the McKelvey Campus Center.

Koop's presentation, "RetroSpectacular: A Community Project," will touch on the many people and steps necessary to plan and produce the current gallery exhibit of Koop's work and the accompanying catalog. The main focus will be the audience, as Koop will answer questions related to her body of work.

The exhibit will be on display through April 17. Located in Westminster's Art Gallery adjacent to Orr Auditorium, it is free and open to the public.

Koop, who has been with Westminster since 1973, earned undergraduate and master's degrees from Indiana University.

Faculty Forum was established in 1990 by Dr. Barbara Faires, Westminster professor of mathematics emerita, during her term as Dean of the College and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Faculty members from all disciplines volunteer to present lectures on their current research, artistic productions, and/or scholarship of teaching and learning. Each forum presents new ideas with innovative lecture techniques.
