Music Faculty Performed at International Symposium

Westminster College music faculty Dr. Nancy Zipay DeSalvo, associate professor, and James Flowers, adjunct, were invited to perform at the 33rd annual International Saxophone Symposium Jan. 16 at George Mason University in Washington, D.C.

The duo performed two pieces by Enesco and Poulenc that were transcribed for saxophone (Flowers) and piano (DeSalvo) by Flowers.

"We have participated in this conference in the past and have acquired a real following for our work," DeSalvo said.

DeSalvo, who has been with Westminster since 2000, earned an undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University, master's from Manhattan School of Music, and doctorate from The Cleveland Institute of Music.

Flowers earned an undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University and master's from Bowling Green State University.
