Drinko Center Announces 21 Scholars in Service to Pennsylvania

Westminster College's Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning announced 21 Westminster students who are Scholars in Service to Pennsylvania.

In this AmeriCorps Education Award program, students agree to complete 300 hours of service in a year and earn an educational award of $1,000 which can be used for any educational expense at Westminster, to pay for future educational expenses, or be applied to student loans.

At Westminster, the program is overseen by the Drinko Center and coordinated by Bethany South, a 2008 Westminster graduate.

Students work with a variety of service agencies, including: Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Lawrence County Community Action Partnership, Habitat for Humanity, Westminster's Residence Life program, and Walker House after-school program.
