Westminster College Adds New Staff Members

Westminster College recently added administrative staff in several areas.

Katy DeMedal was hired as assistant director of the Career Center. A long-time New Wilmington resident, DeMedal earned undergraduate and master's degrees and secondary school counselor certification from Westminster. She served as a substitute teacher in the West Middlesex and Wilmington Area school districts; has experience in career counseling at Hickory High School in Hermitage; and was head varsity girls basketball coach at Wilmington Area High School.

Katie Hilliard, Zelienople, was hired as assistant to the director of audio visual services. A 2008 Westminster graduate with a degree in art technology, she won the 2008 Audio Visual Award.

Max Mohney, Beaver Falls, was hired as site supervisor of public safety. Recently retired after 30 years service with the Pennsylvania State Police, Mohney earned an undergraduate degree in criminal justice from the Pennsylvania State University and has experience in emergency response, investigations, and supervision.

Abby Ball Prokop, New Wilmington, was hired as interim assistant director of residence life. A 2006 Westminster alumna, Prokop has served as resident assistant, community adviser, and residence director at the College.

Corey Shaw was hired as director of disability support services. He earned undergraduate and master's degrees from the State University of New York (SUNY)-Oswego. He has experience as assistant coordinator of disability services at SUNY and most recently served as school psychologist with the Charles City County public schools. Shaw and his family reside in New Wilmington.
