Westminster College will induct four new members into Alpha Kappa Delta, the international sociology honor society, Wednesday, April 30.
The Westminster inductees are:
Brian Leonhard, a junior business administration major, is a son of Harry and Margaret Leonhard of Conneaut Lake and a graduate of Conneaut Lake High School.
Heather MacKenzie, a junior sociology major, is a daughter of Mark and Barbara MacKenzie of Upland, Calif., and a graduate of Upland High School.
Devon Patton, a junior sociology major, is a daughter of Thomas and Nancy Patton of Sewickley and a graduate of Quaker Valley High School.
Kathleen Teagarden, a junior sociology major, is a daughter of Alice Teagarden and James Teagarden, both of Waynesburg, and a graduate of Waynesburg Central High School.
A dinner and initiation ceremony will be followed at 7:30 p.m. by guest speaker Tony Norman, columnist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, in Phillips Lecture Hall of the Hoyt Science Resources Center. Norman's presentation is free and open to the public.
Norman, who joined the Post-Gazette's city desk in 1988, has held a variety of positions, including clerk, pop music/pop culture critic, columnist, and commentator. His columns have won numerous local, state, and national awards, and he is a frequent guest on local talk shows and television programs.
