Dr. William Evans, Westminster professor of counselor education and coordinator of the graduate counselor education program, will be the featured speaker at Faculty Forum Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 11:40 a.m. in the Sebastian Mueller Theater in the McKelvey Campus Center.

His presentation, "Boy, Does He Need Therapy! (Whatever That Is): An Examination of the Practice and Theory and Foundations of Counseling and Psychotherapy in the 21st Century," will review some of the more popular stereotypes and myths surrounding the nature of counseling, psychotherapy, and the individuals who receive these services.

He will examine the professional training requirements and various theoretical ways in which behavioral health care providers-such as counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers-actually practice counseling and psychotherapy.

Evans, who has been with Westminster since 2001, earned his undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University, a master's from Youngstown State University, and Ph.D. from Kent State University.
