Westminster College is hosting "Global Literacy: The Challenges of Globalization and Diversity" Wednesday, April 25, from 3:30-6 p.m. at the McKelvey Campus Center.

This seminar, presented by the Westminster Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh, is for high school teachers, curriculum personnel and high school principals, and will focus on understanding and responding to the challenges of globalization and diversity. Drawing on history, politics, economics, and current events, the program will inform, provide some insights, and enlighten participants.

Dr. Schuyler Foerster, president of the World Affairs Council, is the presenter of this seminar. He believes that the strength of a free society with global responsibilities is grounded in a citizenry educated about itself and its connections to the rest of the world.

The Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning was developed to advance world-class teaching at Westminster and enrich K-12 education through outreach programs for area educators.

Act 48 credit for two clock hours is available, and dinner is provided. Contact Dr. Samuel Farmerie at (724) 946-7053 or e-mail farmersa@westminster.edu for more information.
