Westminster College is hosting the Second Northern Regional Tri-State Research and Development Project Network Meeting, sponsored by the Tri-State Area School Study Council, Tuesday, April 10, at 4 p.m. at the McKelvey Campus Center.

This network meeting, facilitated by Dr. Glenn Smartschan and Dr. Charles Gorman and titled "Organizational Capacity Building Through Databased Decision Making," will feature two groups of participants who will analyze a problem and identify potential solutions that could be used to address the problem. The meeting will be conducted as an active problem-solving opportunity to examine organizational capacity-building strategies.

Over the past few months of this school year, most schools and districts have been implementing a variety of approaches to databased decision making strategies. Benchmark assessments have become commonplace as a mechanism to prepare students for the PSSA. Are these processes building capacity in the district or school to sustain improvements in student performance? What adaptations are being implemented in the organization to sustain improvements in student performance? Questions of this type will be featured in this workshop.
