Westminster Offers Free Classes to Celebrate National Non-Traditional Students Week

Posted on Tuesday, October 17, 2006

In conjunction with National Non-Traditional Students Week, the Westminster College Lifelong Learning Program (LLP) is inviting potential students to attend a class the week of Nov. 5-11 free of charge.

"If you've contemplated going back to school, just call us and advise us of your interests and we will schedule your class visitation," said Carol Yova, director of continuing education and lifelong learning at Westminster College.

The Lifelong Learning Program is an undergraduate study program designed for the adult learner and is taught by regular faculty members. No entrance exams are required. All classes carry full college credit, and those who have previously attended college may be able to transfer credits.

"Although the curriculum is composed of regular college offerings, the evening program offers students the opportunity to take accelerated course work," Yova said. "Each class is offered on a one-night-a-week basis to accommodate busy work schedules with day classes also available."

Westminster offers 41 undergraduate majors. Accounting, business administration, English and public relations are four majors that can be completed entirely through evening course work. Three years of course work toward the education major can be done in the evening, while other majors can be completed by combining evening classes with a few day courses.

"Flexible curriculum, student computer access, and small class size are just a few of the many benefits we offer," Yova said. "Your educational goals are closer than you think."
