The Westminster College Celebrity Series 2006-07 season offers a variety of musical entertainment.

"We are unusually excited about the large-scale shows that make up our next season," said Gene DeCaprio, director of the Westminster College Celebrity Series. "The shows promise the best in American entertainment."

Saturday, Sept. 16, the season debuts with a concert featuring Broadway stars Linda Eder and Michael Feinstein. Eder's magnificent voice and dramatic song interpretations have earned her the reputation of being equal to her models, Judy Garland and Barbara Streisand. Four-time Grammy-Award nominee pianist and vocalist Fienstein performs concerts with symphony orchestras and plays solo concerts around the country.

Thursday, Nov. 16, brings the Rhythm of the Dance to the Westminster stage. This richly costumed program, using the genuine spirit of Irish national dances and songs, includes modern influences like beat, jazz, and Latin presented in the most up-to-date stage technology. This is one of the top three Irish dance companies in the world, and has performed to over three million people worldwide.

Tuesday, Dec. 19, features "Christmas in Vienna" with The Vienna Choir Boys. This choir, formally called the Wiener Sangerknaben, was founded in Austria in 1498, and six centuries later, the famed Vienna Choir Boys continue to delight music lovers across the globe with their awesome purity of tone. The choir also performs with opera companies and the world's premier symphony orchestras and foremost conductors. This production promises to be an outstanding Christmas program.

Saturday, Feb. 17, the multi-talented musician, singer and actor, Bobby Vinton, comes to Westminster. He has sold more than 75 million records during his career, which is more than Sinatra and Presley. Vinton is joined by an orchestra and family members to sing his most beloved hits including "Roses Are Red," "Blue Velvet," and "Melody of Love." Born in Canonsburg and graduated from Duquesne University, Vinton will awe his audience with a dazzling concert.

Saturday, March 17, the Three Phantoms in Concert will entertain the Celebrity Series audience. Together with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra three of the men who played the lead role in Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, will present a spectacular show of Broadway songs.

Monday, April 16, the Westminster Celebrity Series will conclude with Wonderful Town, a 2003 Tony Award winner in "Best Choreography." This musical centers around two sisters, fresh off the bus from Ohio, ready to follow their dreams. The dazzling score by Leonard Bernstein, Betty Comden and Adolph Green and the book by Joseph Fields and Jerome Chadorov come together in this fast and funny big-city adventure.

Season subscriptions, which range in price from $204 to $214, and single show tickets, which range in price from $37 to $52, are currently on sale.
