Westminster College to Host Environmental Science Video Conference

Westminster College will host "Green Careers Videoconference 2000" Thursday, Nov. 9, from noon-2 p.m. in Hoyt Science Resources Center room 152.

"This videoconference will be broadcast live via satellite from Old Dominion University to colleges and universities nationwide, and is designed for students, recent graduates, environmental professionals, career placement professions and corporate personnel professionals," said Dr. Carolyn Cuff, associate professor of mathematics and chair of the environmental science committee. "Anyone interested in working for the green environment would benefit by attending the event."

This first ever green careers interactive satellite conference features three panel sessions on three career areas: renewable energy, green marketing/green products, and other green careers. It will include moderated discussions with 30 minutes of live interaction of question and answer sessions.

The Westminster event is sponsored by the Career Center and the Environmental Science Committee, which includes Dr. Joseph M. Balczon, assistant professor of biology, Cuff, Dr. Ann E. Throckmorton, associate professor of biology, and Dr. Timothy T. Wooster, associate professor of chemistry.

Westminster College currently has about 30 environmental science majors.
