Posted on Thursday, November 2, 2000

The Westminster College Concert Choir plans its first performance of the academic year Monday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wallace Memorial Chapel.

"As the new director of choral activities at Westminster College, I am very excited about our first concert this year," said Dr. Robin Lind. "The students at Westminster are very talented and their desire for excellence is evident in all that they do."

"The music for this program ranges from Renaissance to Jazz, with a little something for everyone in the audience," continued Lind. "We invite all of you to come and enjoy an entertaining evening of singing by the Concert Choir and Chamber Singers."

The concert choir has prepared such numbers as "Festival Te Deum" by Benjamin Britten, "Ave Maria" by Anton Bruckner, "Hosanna to the Son of David" by Orlando Gibbons and "How Can I Keep from Singing" by Z. Randall Stroope.

The chamber singers' music includes "My Spirit Sang All Day" by Gerald Finzi, "Four Gypsy Songs" by Johannes Brahms, and "When I Fall in Love" arranged by Kirby Shaw.

Lind, who joined the Westminster College faculty this year, serves not only as the director of choral activities, but also as assistant professor of music. She earned her undergraduate degree from Albertsons College of Idaho, her master's from the University of Oregon, and her Ph.D. from the University of Utah.
