Westminster College freshman Sean Taylor, a baritone from Brookville, was among the chosen few to attend a Master's Class with Dr. Robert H. Mclver, voice professor at the Eastman School of Music, at the Civic Light Opera in Pittsburgh.
"It's quite an honor to study under Dr. Mclver," said Donald Rasely, voice professor at Westminster College. "Eastman is one of the most prestigious music schools in the country."
"I was invited because I won the freshmen division of National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competition last fall," said Taylor. "I learned a lot of new things, but much of what Dr. Mclver told me were the same things Mr. Rasely advised me. That says a lot for Mr. Rasley as a teacher."
Taylor, a music education major, is a son of Linda S. Taylor, 38 Pennsylvania Ave., Brookville, and a graduate of Brookville Area High School.
