Of the 1,565 colleges and universities in the nation, Washington Monthly rated Westminster College among the top 100 liberal arts colleges in the country for its contributions to the public good.
Up five spots from last year in the magazine’s “Best Liberal Arts Colleges” list, Westminster was ranked 79 overall in Washington Monthly’s 2024 College Guide and Rankings. Westminster is one of only two Western Pennsylvania colleges to make the Top 100 placement.
Washington Monthly’s guide highlights schools that have made “contributions to the public good” and “what they do for the country,” by measuring social mobility, research and promotion of public service. In the service metric, Westminster earned the No. 26 spot among its ranking of 194 liberal arts schools nationwide, a reward for preparing students for careers in socially valuable fields—health, education and social work.
Washington Monthly also named Westminster a “Best Bang for the Buck College” in the Northeast region for helping non-wealthy students obtain marketable degrees at affordable prices. Dedicated to attracting students from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds and guiding them through to graduation is a long-standing tradition at Westminster College. Special programming and competitive financial aid packaging make a Westminster education affordable and accessible.
Washington Monthly has been releasing its annual College Guide and Rankings since 2005.
