Dr. Darwin Huey, chair of the Department of Education and director of the Graduate Program at Westminster College, has been awarded the Counselor of the Year Award by the Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International.
"This award is granted each year to a graduate of the program who consistently exemplifies the finest qualities of a professional counselor," said Dr. William Evans, associate professor of education and adviser for the group.
Huey, who has been with Westminster College since 1977, is also an associate professor of education. He earned his undergraduate and master's degrees from Westminster College, and his Ed.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
Westminster College offers the Counselor Education Master's Degree Program which prepares professionals to become certified as a school counselor in Pennsylvania and licensed as a school counselor in Ohio.
