Three Westminster College students recently attended the 48th annual Association for Women in Psychology conference in Atlanta, Ga.

Students attending the conference, “Engaging Transformative Justice as Feminist Praxis,” included Lindsey Oliver, a senior honors student double majoring in psychology and criminal justice studies from Webster, N.Y., Isabella Buettner, a sophomore honors student majoring in psychology from Cranberry Township, Pa., and Gianna Lepore, a sophomore psychology major from Pulaski, Pa.

Oliver, who will attend Syracuse University College of Law following graduation, presented her capstone research at the conference titled “The Impact of Race and Mental Illness on Perceptions of Punitiveness in the Criminal Justice System.”

Dr. Sherri P. Pataki, associate professor of psychology, accompanied students at the conference.

Funding for the conference was provided by a donation from Dr. William E. Reay ’78 and Omni Inventive Care in Omaha, Neb., to Westminster’s Department of Psychology and Neuroscience.
