Westminster College graduate Craig Villwock ’97 was presented with the Westminster College Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the 2023 Westminster Entrepreneurship Center (WEC) Symposium on March 4.
Villwock and his twin brother, Chris, are the founders, owners and co-CEOs of the Warren, Ohio-based TLC Insurance Group & Wealth and TLC Home Healthcare. The Villwocks have grown their businesses to over 1,000 managers and brokers in affiliate locations nationally, with offices in Ohio, Texas, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Florida, Tennessee and North Carolina.
Villwock spoke to WEC students about his professional journey, highlighting his experiences and achievements. A business administration major while a student at Westminster, he was also a three-time All-American defensive end and captain of the football team. He was inducted into the Westminster College Titan Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.
Villwock joined the entrepreneurial panelist discussion, which highlighted those who have established their own service-related companies in the areas of leadership training, insurance and accounting. Panelists included Curtis Sprouse ’87, founder and president/CEO of the Boston-based EurekaConnect, and Richard Tice ’83, founding partner and current managing partner of the accounting firm McCall Scanlon & Tice in Pittsburgh.
The symposium also recognized School of Business scholarship recipients and offered networking opportunities for WEC students.
The WEC is located in Westminster’s School of Business and offers students the opportunity to be exposed to concept creation, innovation of ideas and business ownership strategies. The WEC provides spaces and resources for student entrepreneurs to turn their business ideas into new enterprises. Through entrepreneurial exposures, leadership collaboration, entrepreneurial engagements, competitions and events, students are exposed to real world practical experiences.
The School of Business established the Westminster College Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2014. For more information, please contact Eric Gaber, entrepreneur-in-residence and lecturer and WEC director at 724-946-7161 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
