Twelve students selected for Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Honors Band

Twelve Westminster College instrumentalists have been selected to perform in the 75th annual Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Honors Band, which will perform March 10-12 at Commonwealth University at Mansfield.

The organization is the nation’s oldest continuously performing intercollegiate band, featuring student musicians from colleges and universities across the state.

The students selected are all members of the Westminster Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Westminster College Professor of Music and Director of Instrumental Activities Dr. R. Tad Greig, and include:


•    Ashley Tarter, a senior political science and English double major from Alliance, Ohio, on flute
•    Shawn Redmond, a sophomore music performance major from Ellwood City, Pa., on oboe
•    Shelby Pocono, a sophomore music education major from Shavertown, Pa., on clarinet
•    Maeve Wonderly, a junior music education major from Altoona, Pa., on clarinet
•    Jack Romocean, a junior music composition major from Ravenna, Ohio, on alto saxophone
•    Dalton Stoops, a sophomore music education and music performance double major from Warren, Ohio, on trumpet
•    Madison Mueller-Howell, a junior music education major from Rimersburg, Pa., on trumpet
•    Madolyn George, a junior music recording technology major from Altoona, Pa., on trombone
•    Tim Mulcahy, a first-year music and music education double major from Bradford, Pa., on trombone
•    Jeremy Beckinger, a sophomore music education major from Coal Center, Pa., on euphonium
•    Peyton Aujay, a junior music education and music performance double major from Lowber, Pa., on tuba
•    Alayna Ford, a first-year music performance and music composition major from Rimersburg, Pa., on tuba

Leading this year’s Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Honors Band will be guest conductor Gary Green, retired director of bands from the University of Miami Frost School of Music. More than 100 students from 22 Pennsylvania colleges and universities will be participating. This year, Westminster College has the second-largest contingent of students.
