Westminster’s student media website earns award

College Broadcasters Inc. (CBI) named Westminster College’s student media website, www.wcn247.com, the third place winner of the 2020 CBI National Student Production Awards for Best Student Website.

The website is maintained by Westminster’s combined student newsroom featuring journalists and editors from The Holcad newspaper, Titan Radio and Westminster Cable.

CBI award winners were announced at the 2020 National Student Electronic Media Convention held virtually Oct. 28-30.

The website, www.wcn247.com, operates from the converged newsroom in the School of Communication. In addition to serving the local campus and community with news, sports and information, the newsroom is a living, learning experiential space for Westminster’s young journalists. The newsroom is also an outlet for student-produced content from courses and serves as a practical, immersive laboratory for learning and portfolio-building.
